When making a blog, one of the primary concerns is "How do I get traffic to my site?" Well, there are a number of ways of building traffic,
but these are a lot more specific and building SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC!!!
1.) Building your content is probably the best way to get traffic to your site. You can't put any old thing and expect people to sit there and read it, and Google definitely penalizes you for having weak content.
2.) Keyword Research - find out what the main competition for your keywords are. Look up words that get good traffic yet are not oversaturated by the market.
3.) Build your links.Don't expect to get traffic by merely making posts. Get your name out there.
4.) Social Media. Build Your Twitter, Facebook, and Google + base. You have different uses for all! Social media is a new and least expensive way of networking.
5.) Leave an e-mail/contact page. That way people can contact you directly! It's a good to answer some question as well.
6.) Engage in your comments. Answer questions, use your knowledge to be helpful. Let them know you are directly involved in your site.
7.) Look at your competition. Exploit what they don't do, learn what tactics they use. This will give you a considerable advantage early in the game.
8.) Article directories and press release sites give you higher rankings. Distribute your info on there!
9.) Look at the type of posts you get the most traffic and feedback, so that way you can make smarter posts.
10.) Network with other blogs. You'll get more traffic and learn more!!! Also, it may be a money maker for you if you do a joint venture because it'll be easier for you to sell products due to your reputation.
